Capt. Moro LLC. Marine Surveyors specialize
in the surveying of small to medium size pleasure and commercial
passenger carrying vessels and yachts, fiberglass and wood power
boats. Our surveys encompass fire and safety systems, hull and
deck structures, propulsion and steering, electrical and
electronics, sanitation, domestic systems, marine equipment,
ground tackle and rigging.
All surveys are performed in
cognizance of the rules, regulations and standards of the USCG,
ABYC
and NFPA.
To complete a full pre-purchase survey it is
normally necessary to visually inspect the vessel on land and in
the water, and conduct a sea trial. Sea trials involve assessing
the performance of propulsion and steering systems, at idle
through full load conditions. Depending on the vessel's age and
type it may also be necessary to perform some or all of the
following tests: percussion, moisture, compression, oil
analysis, cooling, electrical circuitry and corrosion analysis.
Each survey report details the inspection
findings through incorporated digital photos, completed
checklists and condition comments. In addition, a Remarks &
Recommendations section outlines the necessary repairs and
equipment upgrades to comply with the above mentioned condition
and safety standards. The fair market and replacement values are
also stated in the survey report.
