Capt. Robert Moro

Capt. Robert (Bob) grew up on the water working on his fathers charter boat "Dam-Bot" out of Sandy Hook, NJ. Capt. Bob received his 100 ton Near Coastal Masters license from the USCG in 1977 and started his own Charter fishing business the "Crack-A-Dawn". Since then, Capt. Bob has mastered the fishing grounds in the Sandy Hook area and he started providing expert engineering consultant services concerning commercial and pleasure power boats for attorneys, insurance companies and manufacturing companies in the field of marine related subjects. He has Performed in-depth investigations and accident reconstruction exercises concerning boating accidents and personal injury.  He is well versed in the various statutes and regulations relating to vessels and the waterways, rules of the road, aids to navigation, tide charts, weather conditions, etc.  On many occasions, Capt. Bob performed studies, prepare reports and appear in court as an expert witness, providing testimony in court litigation proceeding and depositions. Capt. Bob retired from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission in 2005 and started Capt. Moro LLC Surveying Services.

 

Capt. Jonathan Moro

 

Capt. Jon has spent most of his life on boats. As a child fishing on his father’s charter boat, growing up to working as a mate on the Crack-A-Dawn, and received his 100 ton near coastal masters license at the age of 19.  Capt. Jon has spent the first half of his 20’s working as a captain for a high speed commuter ferry company between New York and New Jersey, learning how to navigate in the countries busiest harbor, battling the strong currents of the Hudson and East Rivers, and dealing with mother nature and everything that she can throw at you.  Capt. Jon advanced his training in the maritime field, so in January 2007, he received his Certification in the Small Craft and Yacht Surveying at Chapman’s School of Seamanship in Stuart, Fl.
